I met a lady yesterday who brimmed with positivity, smiles and assertiveness. Yet she really lacked confidence on the inside, felt insecure and afraid. Like many of my clients, you’d never have guessed she had problems with confidence or self-belief.
Self-confidence is vital to our feelings of success in all aspects of our lives. That’s why I so love coaching people to better confidence. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing with you some of the secrets I’ve learnt for boosting your confidence and building your inner self-belief.
Confidence Boosting Secret Number One:
Get to Know the Brilliant You
Do you really know yourself? You probably know your weaknesses or failings. What about your talents and strengths? We all have talents which are our unique gifts for ourselves and the world.
Make a list of your weaknesses. Ask yourself how much each weakness really matters. If it does, identify actions you can take to overcome your weakness – and start work on it today. If it doesn’t, just let it go. It doesn’t matter and the world won’t fall apart!
Next, list all your strengths – what are you good at, what are the positives about you and your personality? This is really important. You won’t become arrogant and egotistical from noting and appreciating what’s good about you. No false modesty allowed!

And as we let out own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Once you’ve compiled your list, ask those who know and love you to add to your list of strengths and talents. Then put your list where you you will see it regularly and make sure to read it often.
